Paper Piecing Tutorial

I created this paper piecing card and tutorial for the Scrapbook News & Review Magazine and now would like to share it here. I have a picture of the finished card and all of the steps that I took to get to this card. The background paper is Webster's Pages and the ladies are all cut from Graphic 45.

Here is the finished card:

Choose your patterned paper for the front of your card:

Cut a piece of patterned paper to fit on the front of your card:

Adhere the patterned paper to the front of your card:

Choose the patterned paper to cut your small images from:

Cut out several different sized images:

Move the images around on your card to decide where you're going to put them:

Adhere the images to the front of your card. You can use as many layers as you want to use:

Here is the finished card again. I stamped two greetings and added a rhinestone. You can embellish as desired.

Thank you, Scarlett!

My dear, sweet friend, Scarlett Salamone, sent me this wonderful award. Here's what she had to say, on her blog:

"The rules of this award are to tell you 10 things that make me happy and then I am to pass it on to 5 more people.

Here are the 5 lovely friends I would like to pass this on too. My reasoning behind this is because these gals have really helped me along my internet scrappy journey. From resizing photos, to creating a pretty blog, they have been there for me and they make me HAPPY! I am soo blessed to be able to call each and every one of them a friend. I have only met one in real life, but I sure do hope that changes. So without further ado, I would love for you to visit my friends (in no particular order!! LOL!):

Cheryl
Nicole
Lucy
Sue
Suzann

Girls you all have so inspired me and been such great friends through good times and not so good. I love each and every one of you! Thanks for brightening my days!!"

Thank YOU, Scarlett - I'm so honored to be included in this list and love being a part of your scrappy life!! Congratulations to all of you and that's what makes My Sketch World ROCK THE HOUSE!!!

Valentine Tag

I just made this Valentine tag for Scrapbook News & Review and it was featured in our "14 Days of Valentine Tags" in the newsletter. If you don't receive the newsletter yet - simply go to the above link and then go down to the bottom of the page (on the left hand side). You can sign up right there.

I used a scrap of Basic Grey Valentine paper from a couple of years ago. You only need a small piece. Measure and cut a piece of paper so that it covers everything except the very top of the tag (as seen in this picture):

Ink the edges of both the paper and the tag:

I had this matching sheet of half-used Basic Grey stickers, so I chose two hearts:

Ink the edges of the hearts:

Adhere the hearts with pop dots:

Tie a big bow and glue it over the hole:

Here is the finished tag:

This was an easy project and was a great way to use some of my left over paper and embellishments.
