OMGosh It's June 30th! {UPDATED}

WE HAVE A WINNER

JENNY B IN INDY!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, JENNY - I'LL NEED TO GET YOUR ADDY!!

I'LL HAVE A JULY "FOLLOWERS RAK DRAWING" RIGHT HERE!!

I totally let this month get away from me! I almost forgot to do my June RAK drawing from my "followers". So, I'm posting a picture of some of the goodies that I'm getting together and I'll announce this month's winner tomorrow. Maybe next month, I can get it together and get this done by the middle of the month. That is my intent, anyway.

It's Sunday!

This is Day 120 - the Sunday Sketch - over at 365 Cards. This sketch was real tricky - at least for me. My new philosophy is, "when in doubt - make a Christmas card. I have several made already and bought this WRMK Christmas paper last year and still love it this year!

Here's Pam's tricky little sketch:

Day 114, 115 and 118

Day 114 is "Lovin' Lavender" at 365 Cards blog. Well, I don't love lavender - it's my least favorite color and I totally forgot about this piece of paper that I won in a RAK. I was actually looking for a piece of Junkitz to use in a challenge over at MSW and came across this. Don't get me wrong - this paper is gorgeous!! I'd say this is more plum - which I like a lot better than lavender. I feel like I "cheated" on this card - the paper was so gorgeous that I just couldn't cover it up with anything but this little bit of ribbon. (My daughter, Stephanie brought me that lavender ribbon - it's one of her favorite colors. She'll be happy to see I used it. LOL)

Day 115 was "Piece It Together" and was all about paper piecing. I've been doing this (at least that's what I call it) ever since I started scrapping. I couldn't decide between these two cards, so I posted both. Both of these are also for challenges over at MSW - gotta love that!!!

Last, but not least - Day 118 was "I've Been Framed". This one really stumped me - I needed a Cosmo Cricket card for MSW, got out this "Hey Sugar" line and low and behold, there were some little frames in it. Thanks, C.C.!!

Hey, Lucy has decided not to end the crop tonight - and has extended the deadline for uploads til Monday night at midnight - so come on over!!

I'm almost a week late................

But here's my "take" on last Sunday's sketch over at 365 Cards.

Here's Pam's sketch:

BIG NEWS!!

I'm pleased to announce that I have been asked to join the staff of Scrapbook News & Review!! My position is effective as of today and I have been hanging out on the forum over there, trying to get to know everybody. Be sure to check out the SNR Card Universe, too - just click on the SNR Card Universe box in the right column and it'll take you right there. We're having a lot of fun over there, too - even making Christmas cards in June - gotta love that!

The MSW Crop is a-rockin' - there are SO many challenges - no matter what you need to get your MOJO going, it's there. Here are two cards I made for Wendi's Boy/Girl Card Challenge. They were recipe cards - use at least 1 arrow, 1 star, some distressing and some metal on the boy's card; use at least 1 flower, some ribbon, bling and scallops for the girl's card.

Day 112 Challenge - Everlasting Love

Today's challenge at 365 Cards was to make a card that had the word "love" on it. I have gotten ALL of the challenges done this week - yay!! I've had a busy week and didn't know whether I'd make it or not, but these cards came together pretty easily for me. Sometimes that happens. I used a scrap of Fancy Pants Splendid and some flowers that I've been hoarding for the longest. See, I said I was going to quit hoarding - it hasn't been easy, but I'm working on it. Now if only I can make myself use these big beautiful flowers from Prima that I've had since last summer. They're both in shades of hot pink.

My Sketch World News

My Sketch World is having a crop from the 21st to the 27th. Here's all the information and we'd love for you to join us - there are always LOTS of great challenges and the ladies over there are a blast!!

Lucy is also looking for her next MSW Designers. If you'd like to be a part of a talented and energetic team, head on over there and send in your application. I have SO enjoyed designing for Lucy and haven't ever worked with a more talented group of ladies - check it out here.

Lucy is also looking for an Events Coordinator. Here is the information for this call.

Lastly, here is a card I made for one of the MSW challenges. I've decided that if there aren't any restrictions on challenges, I'm going to try to start making my Christmas cards. That is SO out of character for me - what the heck, it's never too late to change..............right?

Day 110 and 111 Challenges

Day 110 Challenge at 365 Cards blog was "My Guy". We were supposed to make a card for a guy and use some kind of argyle pattern. I still needed two more Father's Day cards, so here are the two cards I made - each one with argyle paper.

Day 111 Challenge was "Say It With Stripes". I love stripes and have lots of it, so it was just a matter of choosing which one to use. I chose this WRMK and love the diagonal stripes.

I'm a little behind

But trying to catch up. My youngest DD, Stephanie has been visiting, from Florida since Tuesday and we've been having lots of fun. I really miss her and wish she didn't live so far away!! Here is my card for Day 108 (Oh Boy) - at the 365 Cards blog. The challenge was to make a masculine card - but not for a man. I just love this Kaiser Craft paper and think it makes such a cute card for a boy.

Here is my card for the Day 109 (Color Scheme) challenge:

Day 107 - So Girly

Today's challenge (on the 365 Blog)is all about girls! This was the specific challenge: The word "Girl" must be somewhere on the card - and make the card very girly! I still had Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday laying on my work table from my last card, so here is another one made from this same fabby line of papers. I'm not sure how "girlie" it is, but it does have the word "girl" on it. LOL

Sunday Sketch & Card

Here is the Sunday Sketch for the 365 Cards blog. This whole week is "Cosmo Cricket Week" and I have plenty of that!

Here's the card I made - I used Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday collection. I just love this paper and all the cute embellies that match it!!

It's been a productive day

I've gotten three cards done for the 365 Cards blog today. I might not get the final challenge done, but I've done all the rest of them. Next week will be "iffy" too, because I have a lot to do and don't know how much I'll be around. Anyway, here is the sketch and my interpretation of Day 99, the Super Sunday Sketch on June 7th.

Here is Day 103 Challenge - it's a recipe challenge. I just love recipe challenges.

Day 104 was really fun; it was "Imagine This - Grass" Challenge. We had to use something that either looked like grass or at least gave the feel of grass. I was pretty stumped by this one for a long time and then I found this paper that I got last summer and had never used. It was perfect.

Days 101 and 102

Day 101, over at 365 Cards, was "Fun with Veggies". Now, I don't know about you, but I just don't have any veggie paper laying around, nor do I have any veggie stamps. So I had to put on my thinking cap and this is what I came up with. It's a card to welcome a new person to either your family or any group that you belong to. I just love it - LOL.

I love this card and how often do you get to "double-dip"? (Use 1 card for 2 challenges??) The challenge, Day 102, was "A Combo" of 3 older challenges - 1 from March, 1 from April and 1 from May. For March, I chose Day 27 "Touchy Feely" - I used cardboard and really scuffed it up and then inked it. For April, I chose Day 59 "I Miss You" and for May, Day 77 "Make A Note of It" (handwritten greeting).

The bonus challenge??? Suzann, over at MSW, had posted a challenge to use fabric on a card. Right about the time I was photographing my card, that little light bulb went off - LOL. Double-dipping - yeah, it's a great thing!!

Day 100 "Manic Monday Challenge"

I know it's Wednesday, but I'm trying to do a few of the challenges that I've missed over at the 365 Cards blog. I have managed to get Day 100 challenge done. We were to make a card using bright colors - specifically, red, orange, yellow, blue and green. Wow - one of my very favorite color combos and this WRMK White Out is just the perfect paper!!

I'm back......................

My dear, dear Uncle Richard "Rip" passed away early Saturday morning and we rushed down to Indiana to be with our family. For those of you who follow my blog, this is the same sweet uncle who loved all of my handmade cards. In fact, I made the "Sparrow Card" for him and he had only received it last Thursday. I know that God's Eye was on Uncle Rip in his final moments, as it had been his whole life. He was truly a loving and honorable man. We know you're with the Lord you love so much and you're safe in His arms now. We love you and we'll miss you.

A 1 HOUR LAYOUT!

I decided to participate in the 1 Hour Sketch Contest tonight at MSW. As usual, I'm not terribly thrilled with the quality of the photograph, but I can always re-take it tomorrow in the sunlight. It always blows my mind that I can actually complete a layout in one hour - I'm a slow scrapper and don't really like to hurry. I haven't been able to take part in a 1 hour contest for quite some time and everything just worked out for me tonight. I actually flipped the sketch sideways, because I already had these pictures printed up and had been wanting to scrap them. The sketch called for 2 4x6 horizontal pictures, but it works real well in this orientation. The sketch is shown below.

I just love these pictures of Jordan (J.J.) - he loves to do this "home alone" face. He just graduated from 4th grade Wednesday night - he'll go to Intermediate School for two years now. Cam will be leaving Intermediate School and going to Middle School. They're all growing up way too fast!

Day 97 - Shape Up #2 Challenge SECOND CARD

Well, I love diamonds so much that I made a second card. I've had these vintage images for a long time and decided to break them out today. I'm just tired of hoarding things - this is going to be a hard habit to break, but I'm gonna try real hard!!

Here's my Day 97 card for 365 Card Blog, the challenge was to use diamonds on our cards - I even added a little bling to each corner. I've had this paper FOREVER - it's K & Co and I remember when pink and brown was THE THING in scrapbooking. I bought the whole line - even rubons and matching letters.

Still hanging........................

Around the house, that it. I think we're going to venture over to buy some hanging plants and other things floral. I'm not big on "digging in the dirt" anymore, but I do enjoy having beautiful hanging plants on my front porch. I became a perennial gardner years ago and love the fact that those little puppies just keep on blooming year after year. Gotta love that!!

Well, there is some news - I got an email last night - 2 of my cards are going to be published in the June Cards & Stamping Issue, by SNR!! They're both birthday cards and 2 of my favorites. Today, I have lots of work to do to get all the necessary information back to SNR so they can be published. They want instructions and measurements for these, as well as the materials list.

Wendi, at My Sketch World is having another blog contest for the month of June. It was such a hit in May that she's hosting it again and my name was drawn for the May RAK!!! If you get a chance, do stop over there - the gals are great and there's always lots going on!

I'm Still Here

I thought we would be on our way up north today, but Chuck decided he really didn't want to leave today. Since this is his vacation from work, I'm leaving it entirely up to him. He seems perfectly happy just to hang out here so that's what he's doing - today at least. Meanwhile, I got my 365 Card Blog card done for today. The challenge was to make a card that was predominently pink, blue and orange. No "baby blues and pinks" for me - I went right to these shades that I LOVE for summer - don't they make you want to head for the beach??

June DT Reveal at MSW! {Updated - 365 Card}

Lucy has the Design Teams Reveal up today on My Sketch World. The sketch is below and I made mine oblong, just like the sketch. I gave this card to my husband for his birthday, which was May 30th the "real" Memorial Day", he always tells me - the patterned papers are Scrap Within Reach, Industrial Park - how much more "guy" can you get? I just need Tim Allen to do his "man-grunt" now!!! LOL

Today's challenge(Day 94), at the 365 Cards Blog, was an ad inspired challenge. I must confess, those really aren't very easy for me - I'm not sure why either. I think there's just too much going on - they're just difficult for me. Anyway, this ad just happened to remind me of my daughter Stephanie's wedding. Her colors were black, white and green, not quite this shade of green, but more of a sage. This green is now her favorite green and she wishes she had used this shade. Their anniversary is coming up this month and aren't the little Kaiser inter-twining hearts perfect? Steph will love this card and *heart* the bling - she's a "bling kind of girl" - LOL.

Day 93 "Call Me"

Today's challenge at the 365 Card Blog was to use "Call Me" as the sentiment and/or use an image of a phone on our card. I immediately thought of this Cosmo Cricket, Girl Friday Collection. All of the patterned papers are CC, but the big orange flower was cut from a sheet of Fancy Pants, Delight.

I'm still not sure what our schedule is, but I'm hoping to get a few of these challenges done this week.

Exciting News!!

I logged onto the 365 Card Blog this morning to see what today's challenge is and I was thrilled to see that my "sparrow card" had been named "Top Trio"!! I get to display this blinkie for one week - WOW - thank you so much!!!

365 Cards

Here's my card again - I'm mailing it off to my uncle today. He loves my cards - just like my dad. He always says I make the "cutest" cards. Bless his heart.
