That's what we used to call the 23rd when I was a kid. We were so anxious for Christmas and that seemed to make it closer in our minds. I was recalling one of my favorite memories recently - it always brings a smile to my heart - and I thought I'd share it here.
I must have been about 6 (I still believed in Santa). My dad was tucking me in on Christmas Eve; I was just about beside myself with excitement and didn't think I'd be able to sleep. He was telling me that the sooner I went to sleep, the sooner I'd wake up and it would be Christmas morning.
I looked up at him and said, "I wish it was Christmas Eve every night." I'm pretty sure he was rolling his eyes in the dark and he probably choked on his words, but he answered, "Oh, me too." We have laughed about this so many times over the years!!
I hope you have a wonderful and truly magical Christmas and that you can see Christmas through the eyes of a child. Blessings to each and every one of you.
