The 12 Days of Christmas

Welcome to Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!

I recently had the opportunity to "play" with Karen Foster's Christmas line and it was so much fun! I thought I'd share a few quick, but cute ideas with you, all made with patterned papers and embellishments by Karen Foster and cardstock by Core'dinations. This is also a great way to use all of those scraps that you save!

This is a very inexpensive gift bag that I purchased at a discount store. I just measured the sides of the paper bag and cut my patterned paper to fit. Simply apply the patterned paper with a gluestick. I don't cover the ends of the bag because that's where the bags are folded. The small matching tag is tied onto the handle of the bag with twine. I like to keep a stash of these plain gift bags and sometimes I even use gift wrap, instead of patterned paper. If you keep some of these on hand, you'll always have a cute gift container for any occasion!

I have been making my own tags for years. The first tags I "made" were simply white hang tags from the office supply store. I used to put stickers on them and then write who the recipient was on the back side. Tags can be as simple as you like, or you can decorate them to your heart's content. Homemade tags add so much warmth to a gift. I just cut these shapes out of cardstock and used matching embellishments. The only other thing you need is a standard hole punch and some lengths of twine or ribbon. Isn't it great to have such inexpensive, but cute bags and tags?

I recently made this 12 x 12 wall hanging for Scrapbook News and Review. It is hanging in my kitchen and is made entirely out of Karen Foster patterned papers and embellishments. I mounted it on a piece of heavy cardboard.

I hope you're enjoying our blog hop and be sure to check out the blog tomorrow to see who the featured staffer is!
