4th of July Blog Hop!!

I love using vintage images and have had this one for nearly a year - just waiting for the 4th of July! I used cardstock for the base and chose turquoise blue so that it would match my bling - LOL. I added some beige twill tape and adhered the bling squares to it. I also tucked a piece of red scrap paper, (which I distressed up a bit) behind the image, for an additional accent. Quick, easy and fun to make!!

I totally let this month get away from me! I almost forgot to do my June RAK drawing from my "followers". So, I'm posting a picture of some of the goodies that I'm getting together and I'll announce this month's winner tomorrow. Maybe next month, I can get it together and get this done by the middle of the month. That is my intent, anyway.

It's Sunday!

This is Day 120 - the Sunday Sketch - over at 365 Cards. This sketch was real tricky - at least for me. My new philosophy is, "when in doubt - make a Christmas card. I have several made already and bought this WRMK Christmas paper last year and still love it this year!

Day 114, 115 and 118

Day 114 is "Lovin' Lavender" at 365 Cards blog. Well, I don't love lavender - it's my least favorite color and I totally forgot about this piece of paper that I won in a RAK. I was actually looking for a piece of Junkitz to use in a challenge over at MSW and came across this. Don't get me wrong - this paper is gorgeous!! I'd say this is more plum - which I like a lot better than lavender. I feel like I "cheated" on this card - the paper was so gorgeous that I just couldn't cover it up with anything but this little bit of ribbon. (My daughter, Stephanie brought me that lavender ribbon - it's one of her favorite colors. She'll be happy to see I used it. LOL)



Day 115 was "Piece It Together" and was all about paper piecing. I've been doing this (at least that's what I call it) ever since I started scrapping. I couldn't decide between these two cards, so I posted both. Both of these are also for challenges over at MSW - gotta love that!!!





Last, but not least - Day 118 was "I've Been Framed". This one really stumped me - I needed a Cosmo Cricket card for MSW, got out this "Hey Sugar" line and low and behold, there were some little frames in it. Thanks, C.C.!!



Hey, Lucy has decided not to end the crop tonight - and has extended the deadline for uploads til Monday night at midnight - so come on over!!

BIG NEWS!!

I'm pleased to announce that I have been asked to join the staff of Scrapbook News & Review!! My position is effective as of today and I have been hanging out on the forum over there, trying to get to know everybody. It's pretty crazy right now, as the staff prepares to publish the next issue of SNR!! I'm very excited and welcome this amazing opportunity!!

Be sure to check out the SNR Card Universe, too - just click on the SNR Card Universe box in the right column and it'll take you right there. We're having a lot of fun over there, too - even making Christmas cards in June - gotta love that!

The MSW Crop is a-rockin' - there are SO many challenges - no matter what you need to get your MOJO going, it's there. Here are two cards I made for Wendi's Boy/Girl Card Challenge. They were recipe cards - use at least 1 arrow, 1 star, some distressing and some metal on the boy's card; use at least 1 flower, some ribbon, bling and scallops for the girl's card.
