I love using vintage images and have had this one for nearly a year - just waiting for the 4th of July! I used cardstock for the base and chose turquoise blue so that it would match my bling - LOL. I added some beige twill tape and adhered the bling squares to it. I also tucked a piece of red scrap paper, (which I distressed up a bit) behind the image, for an additional accent. Quick, easy and fun to make!!
